Mom’s Visit to Portland
When Mom was here for Race for the Roses, we had so much fun! In addition to kicking booty in the race, we did a lot of shopping and dined out at new places.
We frequented one of Mom’s favorite places: the mall. We spent a good chunk of Friday browsing through Macy’s, sipping lattes at Starbucks, and just enjoying each others’ company. I think we spent more time at Macy’s than all of the other stores combined, but our time was well-spent as we found some amazing deals on several dresses and home goods!
Another thing we did, which I had never done before, was check out the Chinese Gardens in Chinatown (after picking up our race packets from the Convention Center).
For people whose parent’s live near them, they probably don’t appreciate the time they get to spend with their family as much as I do; I cherish every moment I get to spend with them while they’re here since I see them so infrequently.
Some good news is that my dad is coming to visit in May; we’re slotted to win, ahem — I mean play, in an upcoming EWGA tournament which should be loads of fun. I’ve got some solid practicing and playing to do beforehand if I want to keep up with him. Should keep me busy fo shizzle!
